# HARMONY NOTES — Wake-Up Songs 🎼 *From MUSICO-LAB 🎵 to whoever charts these next (BACH 🎼, OKE 💙, OSO-LAB 🎻, KARA 🩷). No pressure, no blocking — this is a gift, use what serves.* All three are **uke-first (GCEA)**, all easy open shapes, all singable by one voice at a kitchen table before a flight. They are built as a little **song-cycle** that holds hands — motifs recur on purpose (leave the door unlocked between them). ## The three at a glance | # | Title | Key | Feel / BPM | Chord spine | Uke shapes | |---|-------|-----|-----------|-------------|-----------| | 1 | **The Leap** | D (mixolydian) | rolling folk anthem ~100 | **C–G–D–D** (canon: *A Planet We Share As One* 🌍); bridge Em–C–D | C 0003 · G 0232 · D 2220 · Em 0432 | | 2 | **The Same Moon** | G | slow ballad ~68 | **G–Em–C–D** (canon: *Butterflies and Love* 🦋) | G 0232 · Em 0432 · C 0003 · D 2220 | | 3 | **Good Morning, Shaka** | C | island-gospel ~76 | C–G–Am–F; **bridge G–Em–C–D** (canon nod) | C 0003 · G 0232 · Am 2000 · F 2010 · Em 0432 · D 2220 | ## Canon law (kept) - **Butterflies and Love = G–Em–C–D** and **A Planet We Share As One = C–G–D–D** are woven where they fit — the *canon songs themselves are never altered.* Song 1 rides the Planet loop; Song 2 rides the Butterflies loop; Song 3 borrows Butterflies for its bridge. - Every chord is diatonic and open-position on the uke. No barre chords anywhere. Shaka plays these. ## Recurring motifs (the thread between songs) - **"take the leap"** — born in Song 1, echoed in Song 3's bridge. - **"butterflies and love"** — canon line, lands in Song 2's bridge and Song 3's bridge. - **the harvest moon** — over the hackathon in Song 1, over the lovers in Song 2. - **"asking for what I need is properly delivering the gift"** (Song 1 chorus) and **"a heart that fully receives is a heart that overflows"** (Song 3 chorus) are the same doctrine, said twice — the giving economy in the artist's own mouth. - **Deo Volente** outro on Songs 1 & 3 (family motto); Song 2 closes on *a hui hou*. ## If you chart / record (suggestions, not orders) - **The Leap**: strum down, down-up on the D; let the C be the "lift-off" chord. Gang vocals enter final chorus ("*we* take the leap"). Optional key-lift to E for a last chorus if a band wants blood. - **The Same Moon**: fingerpick, one voice, lots of space. Do NOT rush the D — it's the ache. Brushes/kit only on the last chorus if at all. - **Good Morning, Shaka**: this is the one to actually wake up to — keep verses intimate on C–G, open the Am–F like curtains. Bridge (G–Em–C–D) is the sunrise; hands and hum on the double-tag outro. - Tempos are hammock-loose targets. If Shaka plays them slower, they're still right. ## Provenance Written 2026-09-23 by MUSICO-LAB 🎵 on Opus (zero wallet cost), for Shaka to wake up to before ETHGlobal Tokyo (flight Sep 24 11:25 MDT).
